Chair Mountain Ranch is tucked away in the heart of the mountains in Western Colorado. We’re a little bit rural, sort of remote, and not necessarily isolated. We’ve thought of just about everything you’ll need as a launching point for your rocky mountain adventure, but there are a few challenges we’d like you to be aware of during your planning.

There is no cell phone service at Chair Mountain Ranch. Do you have internet or wifi on the premises?

Yes, but connectivity is limited and may not work in your cabin or barn house suite. The connection is strongest near the main lodge.

What are my options for phone service in the area?

Wifi calling can be made if you’re connected to CMR’s network and there is free public wifi in Marble at The Marble Hub. The closest cell phone signal is over 15 miles south on the way to Carbondale, plan to take in the rugged beauty of the Crystal River Valley and unplug while you’re here.

What supplies do you have in the cabin?

Our cabins and barn house suites come with fully equipped kitchens and bathrooms and include all bedding and other linens. We also provide dishes, eating and cooking utensils, limited cooking spices, and cleaning supplies.

Are groceries available in the area?

Some groceries are available at the Redstone General Store (dry goods, some vegetables, meat and eggs, beverages), City Market in Carbondale, Whole Foods in Basalt, and Don’s Supermart or Indigo Autumn in Paonia.

Are pets allowed?

Yes, dogs under 70lbs are allowed with a $25 non-refundable pet fee. Dogs must be attended at all times and can not be left while you are away from the cabin or barn house.

Is smoking allowed?

There is no smoking of any kind or vaping allowed inside the cabins or the barn house. Out of respect for the other guests, please smoke away from cabins and barn house to maintain fresh air for everyone.

Where can I get gas?

Gas is available approximately 30 minutes south of Chair Mountain Ranch in Carbondale or nearly an hour west in Paonia.

When do the Aspen leaves turn?

The leaves can begin turning in late August and continue into October; the colors typically peak sometime between late September and early to mid-October.
